چکیده

AbstractThis paper proposes a time and frequency synchronization technique for a transmit and receive ( ), MIMO OFDM system. The synchronization is achieved using training symbols which are simultaneously transmitted from transmit antennas. The training symbols are directly modulatable orthogonal polyphase sequences. The synchronization algorithm shows satisfactory performance even at a low SNR and in a frequency selective channel. The training sequence structure is specialized such that channel parameters in terms of channel coefficients and noise variance can be estimated once synchronization is achieved.

Joint Synchronization and Channel Estimation with Optimum Training Sequences for OFDM-Based Systems Using EM Algorithm

In this paper, we propose a joint carrier frequency synchronization and channel estimation algorithm for multipleinput and multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems. A major challenge to MIMO-OFDM systems is how to obtain the channel state information accurately and promptly for coherent detection of information symbols and channel synchronization. MIMOOFDM ...

Selective Tone Reservation method for PAPR reduction in SFBC-OFDM systems

The high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and MIMO-OFDM systems reduces the system efficiency. In this paper, an extension of Tone Reservation (TR) method is introduced for PAPR reduction in Space Frequency Block Coded OFDM (SFBC-OFDM) systems. The proposed algorithm is based on a time domain kernel which is added to the signal of the anten...

A Novel Compact Preamble Structure for Timing Synchronization in MIMO- OFDM Systems Using CAZAC Sequences

To increase the throughput of transmission systems, MIMO-OFDM technology allows for a better reach and rate of transmission and improves the reception. The synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver has become a big challenge. A bad timing synchronization causes the loss of a lot of information in a MIMO-OFDM system. In this paper, we propose a novel compact preamble structure bas...

Synchronization and Channel Estimation in Massive MIMO Systems

Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is a strong candidate for the fifth generation (5G) communications system for its high data rate and link reliability. Combining the massive MIMO with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique will increase the robustness of the system against the delay spread in the multipath channel. However, OFDM systems are sensitive to frequen...
